Choosing a tent

Now let's look at the parts of the tent and find out, what they should be, that they serve us long and well.

Materials. Most of today's tents are made of plastic, making them lighter and more durable. Nylons are used to make the tropics, To the bedroom – soft nylonów, more often than – as it used to be – cotton or tulle. The commonly used flooring material is PU polyester. Performance models from recreational (popular) they differ mainly in the density of the materials used and in greater resistance to friction, stretching and high temperatures.

Capacity. The numbers in the name help you choose the right model, because they say, how many people are inside the tent (e.g.. Space Dome 6 firmy Alpinus, is a 6-seater model). Most tents are successfully entered by one person more than stated by the manufacturer. If there are two numbers in the name separated by a slash (e.g.. Camp 2/3) – the first is the number of people, which will rest comfortably in a tent, and the other – how many people can fit in it. Height. Inside the tall tent it is easier to move around. However, it is less stable (e.g.. it is easier to knock him over by a strong wind). For this reason, tall tents (150-200 cm) they are good for camping. During "wild" camps, especially mountain, where it blows strongly, better to have a lower tent (107-115 cm). A compromise solution is a tent with a low bedroom and a high vestibule.
